The folk and folk arts from ancient times to the present, and the understanding of the Japanese consciousness and thought contained in the religion, expand the understanding to Japan. It looks at the spiritual landscape of contemporary Japan by seeing how Japanese traditions and foreign ideas are operating in the changing society, such as the Buddhist sutras, the national school, the Japanese culture, the Japanese soul, the imperialism, and the postmodern.
